Things to Know about Ceiling Fan Lighting
67Ceiling fans originally are built for the purpose of providing air and good room ventilation. It is also designed to provide good air circulation inside the room or in any particular place in the house, hotel, office, church, school, dormitories and many more. But as technology, science and engineering improves the designs and features of ceiling fans begin to change. We are now having ceiling fans with lights. It has dual purpose which is more convenient and efficient for home and outdoors. Ceiling fan lighting involves electricity on a different circuit path than the ceiling fan’s motor. They are on separate circuit path yet they join on single power supply. In other words the ceiling fan lighting and the ceiling fan motor can have separate switches and controls. One remarkable fact is that they don’t only have switches but they also have adjustments. Lighting can be adjusted from dimmer to brighter, while motors can be adjusted on different speed types. The most important thing about ceiling fan lights is their bulbs. This is the very important component of the ceiling fan lighting, so you need to choose the bulbs carefully. You can choose from variety of bulbs, there are; incandescent light bulbs, halogen light bulbs, compact fluorescent bulbs, linear fluorescent bulbs, HID light bulbs, and LED light bulbs. Make sure that you choose a light bulb that fits perfectly the designs and the features of you ceiling fan. Some bulbs may become awkward to look or can be very bright and unpleasant to the eyes. Some can be very big and does not perfectly match the ceiling fan. Ceiling fans with lights also give us savings, because it is a combination of electric fan and chandelier. Instead of buying both you can have them in one unit. That would save a lot of money and at the same time electricity. Ceiling fans with lights are considered as energy savers. More people claimed that their electricity consumption became low while using ceiling fans compared to other appliances like; heat pumps, air-conditioning, electric fans and many more. Another important thing about ceiling fan lighting is that bulbs in your electric fan accumulates dirt like dusts, dead bugs and spider web if they are not used for a long time, but the primary thing that they accumulate is dust, because of the rotating blades of the fan it gathers air along with some dust particles in it. The more you use it the more it accumulates dust which will cover the back area of the blade and the light bulbs. To ensure proper performance you need to regularly clean the bulbs and the blade. One thing to know is that bulbs attract insects, if you are living outside the city, in the country side or near the beach; there are lots of insects at night that would be attracted to the light of the bulb especially if the fan is not being used. If your bulb has a covering or a huge design that covers the bulb/bulbs you might as well remove and clean it regularly because more small insects can enter and get stuck inside. This will affect the performance of you light and can cause dimness and some dark spots. Remember to always clean your ceiling fans and light in order that they will function well and would last for a long time.
